Long hair - Shortends on the side?

When i put my long hair in a ponytail, short ends hang out on the side...is this normal or did my barbor screw up?

I decided to grow my hair about 2 -3 years ago...and just kept getting the split ends cut...now im worried my barbor screwed up. So,are these shortends on the side normal? If not, do I have to cut all my hair and regrow it properly?

Note: My hair is fine when hanging down, but when I put it in a ponytail, the shortends hang out unless I wet them back.

it's normal. it's just because your hair is shorter and it doesnt reach all the way around to the back to fint in the ponytail. try using hairspray or a bobbypin to pin it back.
