I would look through magazines and find a few styles you really like--maybe even some celebrities have a particular style you like. Then show the pictures to you stylist and see what would match your face shape the best.

I don't know if you mean like a really short cut or just a slight change. I would not go too much shorter at first. I would do layers--even around the side of your face a little.

Remember if you go to a good stylist, you can take it slow and let her cut it a little and see what you think of that with layers and then proceed to go further with it if you want. Go to one who will take their time and not rush you out of the chair. Tell them that you want to do that and they will understand and if they don't--go to someone else who will. Usually the nicer salons will try to please their customers. you often get what you pay for so don't slight yourself when it comes to your hair.

think about cutting your hair carefully before you do it. I have cut my hair short before and really regretted it later. It depends on how old you are. If you are really young, go for it.

i wouldn't do anything drastic right away. just cut it maybe 8 inches below your shoulder first then if you want go shorter. dont rush it

i had long hair a month ago down to my buttox, n e ways so i went to any place i found that was not too exensive and i told them that i was not used to short hair and that i did not want this to be a bad experience for me so they suggested that i cut it to about right where your bra strap is across my back and to add three layers to it to help give it volume, when i was done i was so happy, it was not short but not long and i liked it alot! i am tall too, tall people look good with medium length hair like i described below, hope it helps ya
