in the case that you have to have long hair that covers your ears, not short hair. I like long hair and when it gets longer i just have to cut it because it annoys it so much-it just feels not right or funny and sometimes itches or tickles. Do people get used to it, is there a technique to make it look normal with long hair so that it wont annoy your ears?

There is no special procedure for preventing this; I'm presuming you are a guy who is just starting to grow their hair long, it will be "tickly" for a while, then, gradually you won't even notice it. You've probably noticed all those girls don't cut off their hair because of it tickling their ears!
